AGARTALA, Feb 10 (TIWN): Just when counting days are left for the commencement of the 34th Agartala Book Fair, Chief Minister Manik Sakar on Wednesday released fifteen books at Sukanta Academy.
Reportedly, a total of fifteen books of various authors has been released on Wednesday just before the commencement of Agatala book fair.
According to the official report, the 34th Agartala Book Fair is expected to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the presence of Information and Cultural Affair Minister Bhanulal Saha, Eminent Artist of Bangladesh Hashem Khan, Special Secretary of Information and Cultural Affair Department Soumitra Bandopadhyay and others.
To meet the deadline the workers are continuing their works of setting up stalls is full-fledged manner. Workers are enthusiastically participating at the preparation of stalls for the upcoming book fair.
According to the reports, Along with the Tripura publishers, different publishers of Bangladesh, Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati is expected to participate at the upcoming book fair.
With aim to accomplish the fair successfully, under the chairmanship of the Information and Cultural Affairs Bhanu Lal Saha a preparatory committee has been organized.
It is to be mentioned here that the Agartala book fair is being organized in the Umakanta Academy ground since the first book fair in the year 1981.
Thousands of enthusiastic readers of the State and outside the State flocked to the ongoing twelve-day book fair in Agartala that not only displays books of the state, but also provides a platform for an interaction between both readers and writers.
It is to be mentioned here that despite of several e-book facilities a section of common mass enthusiastically waits for the most talked about book fair organized at the capital of Agartala.
