AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): Addressing a Press Conference on Monday Opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath at Press Club stated that until and unless the state gets self sufficient the state will not gain sufficiency and had to depend over the funds of the central.
Detailing about the percentage income of the state, Opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath mentioned that till now the state income is of 11 percent in the current financial year.
Besides, he also mentioned that in the financial year 2014-15 the state’s income was 13 percent and in the financial year 2013-14 the income was 16 percent.
Speaking at the press conference, Opposition leader stated that day by day the state’s income in decreasing; leaving the state’s to depend over the central’s fund.
Besides, he also mentioned that a total deposit in the bank is rupees seventeen thousand six hundred eighty eight crore and forty four lakh.
He further mentioned that until and unless the states get self sufficient it had to depend over various schemed fund of the Central Government. Besides, he also mentioned that if the state does not get self sufficient, no matter how much money is being allotted it will be insufficient for the state.
On the other hand, Ratan Lal Nath has also accused the ruling government members for forcing two IPFT women candidates to withdraw nomination as candidates for the February 24 Village Committee elections.
Mentioning the names of the candidates, Opposition Leader said that Sabitri Debbarma and Ganga Debbarma the two candidates of the IPFT were forced to withdraw their nomination papers. Besides, he mentioned that the two candidates of IPFT at Bodhjung Nagar Village Committee under the Lefunga police station had been threatened on Sunday night with awful consequences unless and until they had withdrawn the nomination for the upcoming village committee election.
