Tripura turns to be a dystopia of abnormalities: Drug overdose claims one, police high official talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident a middle aged man was found dead in his own room at GB area on Monday morning due to drug overdose as claimed by the police.

Talking to TIWN correspondent on Monday police high official said that the body of a middle aged man was recovered from the residential quarters of the GB hospital identified as Subhasis Bhattachaejee (40).

Police further said that Subhasis was addicted to drugs, alcohol and all other addictive stuffs.

The investigation conducted by the local Police into the suspicious death of a 40-year-old youth in GB has confirmed that the man died of a high dose of drug.

Initially, there were suspicions that the youth by name   Subhasis Bhattachaejee    was murdered by unknown drug addicts.

The police official further said that the deceased was employed as Daily Replacement basis (DRB) staff in GB hospital and was staying in the quarter of the GB hospital. Localites claimed that he was regularly seen in drunken condition in the area and most of the time stayed outside the quarter.

Later after investigation it was also found that he was completely detached from his own family and was not in communication with them.

However as a part of investigation police has informed the family members of the deceased and has sent the body for post mortem at GB hospital.

It is to be mentioned here that the deceased had kept himself locked in his room for past three days and when foul smell spreaded in the area the localites informed the police.  Later after entering the room he was found dead in his room and there were no injuries in his body. 

Drug consumption has been a major problem in the society today. Addiction can trap anyone. It can lead to harming one’s body, causing problems in family structure, and contribute to the delinquency in society. Increasing at an alarming rate, the drug consumption among the youths across the state has gripped tight.

Personal and family problems also lead to drug abuse among youngsters who fail to cope up with the ever-growing family and personal problems. Workplace pressure and issues with the colleagues results in workplace deviance which later results in detrimental effects on the individual.

According to the sources, youths of 18 to 30 years of age are addicted to drugs like charas, ganja, along with many other addiction tablets and dendrite. Mostly the students of schools and colleges are affected by the consumption of drugs. The alarming rate of drug abuse has always been a problem and especially the increase of drug abuse among youngsters has had detrimental effects on the society.
