KAMALPUR, Feb 6 (TIWN): The annual festivity of Tripura Mathematical Society of distributing prizes and awards among the successful students got completed here at Kamalpur today. The annual festivity took place at Kamalpur Town Hall.

The program was inaugurated by the former Controller of Tripura University Dr. Premtosh Majumder. Assistant Professor of BBM College Dr. Joydip Bhattacharjee remained present as Guest of Honor. MLA Bijoy Lakshmi Sinha remained the Chief Guest. Among others, Chairman of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat Subrata Bhattacharjee, Vice- Chairman Smt. Khana Das, and portfolio holders of the TMS Kamalpur committee were present. In that program prizes were distributed in eight categories to 45 students in total.

For the Aptitude Test of class-V first six students were given awards. Three students from each of the classes of VI, VII and IX got award for Merit Test who secured the first three positions. First ten students of Junior Mathematical Olympiad examination from the sub-division at class VII level got the prize. First six students of class X level who appeared in the Mathematical Olympiad got prizes. The topper in Mathematics in the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examination in the sub-division also got prizes. The first six of the NMMS and NTSE examinations from the sub-division also got prizes.

Among those prizes the first three from the level of classes V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X got cash prizes of 2, 000 rupees, 1,500 rupees and 1, 000 rupees respectively. The first three of class V level got Dinesh Chandra Memorial Cash Award while the first three from class VIII level got Kiranbala Memorial Cash Award. First three from the Math Olympiad of class X got Ashutosh Bhattacharjee Cash Award. Huge numbers of students and guardians attended the program.
