AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN) : Although a small state, but power dept. is unable to tackle the increasing power theft in Tripura, especially in rural areas. Allegations are coming against a govt. school for using hook lines since a long time at Khowai. However, school authority has claimed that the hook line is not actually using by the school itself, but the RD Dept.’s engineers are fully involved in it, who had started the class-room building construction work in 2015.The school has been identified as Gayamfung High School at Kalyanpur, under Khowai Dist., where a construction work is going on under RMSA project. Presently the building construction work under RD Dept. for which atleast Rs. 34 lakhs was sanctioned in 2015, is under scanner. The construction work was started on June 26, 2015.Technical assistant (I/O) Amulya Debbarma was overall in-charge of the work under Rural Development Dept. However, the whole work has been running by using hook lines from the beginning. But surprisingly, power dept. has not interrupted in their work.Locals alleged that as it’s a tribal and interior area, so such incidents are very common at there. Moreover, the education quality of that school is also in very shape.Talking to the HM Uttam Debbarma has said the construction work’s quality is very poor and the materials which are using in that work including the bricks are also of very low quality.

He also expressed his displeasure over the slow progress of the work.

Apart from this school, there are also many allegations against the RD Dept. under Khowai Dist. for such activities. Poor quality of work, as well as frequent theft of power has hit Khowai Dist. for which both the RD Dept. and the Power Dept. is fully responsible, claimed locals.
