AGARTALA, Feb 5 (TIWN): Eyeing forward to completely sweep the ensuing bi-election which is scheduled to be held on Feb 13, CM Manik Sarkar is all set to attend the mass gathering at Amarpur in support of his own party and will deliver his speech in the mass gathering at Chandibari School-field. Just few days ahead of the bi-election which is scheduled to be held on February 13, all the streets of Amarpur sub-division are filled with the flags and festoons of the political parties, which is just a measure to say who is more powerful. Every year vote comes and goes political figures promises of bringing development and making the state a model state but the pricking truth is that what remains behind is the day long misery in the state. The slogans and the speeches come with new adjectives but never after the election is a single promise fulfilled. Election is Tripura has become a run to stay in power and looting public fund and not paying ears to the public misery. Door to door campaign, political gatherings, everything is organised to woo the voters just ahead of municipal election. Flags, festoons, banners, posters have fill the streets to woo the voters.

Crores of money is spent for this decoration and campaign and the political shows empty hand while providing service to the people of the state.

The bag full of public money is wasted in the name of election campaign.  It’s to be mentioned here that the political parties are wasting the ‘public money’ and ‘scam earned cash’ in the name of election campaign like water. To boast themselves as on the top of the hierarchy, all the parties are busy in holding campaigns to earn votes.

If the money would have been spent for a good cause, the political parties would have made their grip much stronger in the state. Apart from holding rallies with music system and flags and festoon if the party would have given some time to the development of the society the party would have gain good name.

However, the bi-election for the Amarpur Assembly segment was decided to hold after the CPI-M has kicked off its one MLA of Amarpur Assembly segment Manoranjan Acharjee on charge of moral error.   CPI-M legislator Manoranjan Acharjee has resigned from the Tripura assembly after the party expelled him on charges of wrongdoing.  Although, Acharjee has denied the charges slated against him.

However, it is to be mentioned here that Bi-election to Amarpur Assembly constituency would be held on February 13. The election process is scheduled to be completed on February 28. The election would be held on the basis of electoral rolls with base year- 1-1-2016. However, the counting would be conducted on February 16.
