Situation in Tripura is worse than 'Jungle Raj' : Says MSME Minister Giriraj Singh

AGARTALA, Feb 4 (TIWN): Tall promises made by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to ensure law and order in the state seems to be falling flat as Union Minister of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh accompanied by BJP state president Biplab Deb in a wake to meet the rape victim on Thursday at GB hospital commented that “Jungle raj is still continuing in the state”. Speaking to a rape victim at GB hospital on Thursday, Singh said that the law and order of the state is highly disturbed. The state government has failed to check crime and people are at the mercy of criminals, added Singh. He further said that everyone feels under threat and I feel the situation in Tripura is worse than the jungle raj it is experiencing these days. Law and order problem is not a new phenomenon in Tripura; successive government has, over the years, found it to be the most difficult issue to address, added Singh. He further expressed displeasure over the rising poor condition of law and order in the state. He once again reiterated the same thing that the “chief” of the state is strict to maintain the administration then the whole administration will be in control.He also slammed at Tripura government that if past so many years of ruling the state has not seen any graph of development in the state.

However, BJP will also give a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the rape victim.

It is to be mentioned here that the Minister of State for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises MSME Giriraj Singh in a visit to state also monitored the work progress at Khadi Gram Udyog Bhavan.

Speaking at the Khadi office on the previous day the Minister talked about the purity of khadi products in terms of negligible carbon footprint and environment friendly nature. He also emphasised on increasing the contribution of khadi and on creating more jobs for rural women in khadi sector by the means of khadi.  

Giriraj Singh is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician from Barahiya, Bihar, India. He is the Member of Parliament from the Nawada constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha, and a former minister in the cabinet of Nitish Kumar.

Singh served the Cabinet of Bihar as co-oprative minister from 2005-2010 & Animal Husbandry minister from 2010 to 2013. He has been a staunch supporter of Narendra Modi from the beginning. He publicly supported Modi for Prime Minister from long time. He was among the eleven BJP ministers who were dismissed by Nitish Kumar as a result of breaking of JDU-BJP alliance. He is a member of Bihar State Bharatiya Janata Party's 16-member state election committee.
