AGARTALA, Feb 4 (TIWN) : In total 7 parities have submitted their nomination papers for Amarpur Bi-election and presently all the parties are doing their best to fill the post of CPM expelled MLA Manorajan Acharjee. The election will be held on Feb 13 and the vote-counting will be on Feb 16.
According to the sources, BJP National level leader Hema Malini is coming on Feb 10 as a part of the campaign. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is to visit Amarpur in support of his own party and will deliver his speech in the mass gathering at Chandibari School-field.
Already Cong. state leaders as PCC President Birajit Sinha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, MLA Pranajit Singha Roy, MLA Ashish Saha, and Youth Cong. leaders Sushanta Chowdhury Vicky Prasad had visited Amarpur and asked the public to vote for Cong. In the day of submitting nomination paper itself, Cong. had their campaigns at Amarpur.
Moreover, BJP’s state leader Biplab Deb along with Sunil Deodhar (National BJP leader, in-charge of Tripura) had finished their visit already. Biplab Beb would again visit Amarpur, along with BJP National leader Hema Malini on Feb 10.
The candidates for the MLA post are : Parimal Debnath (CPM), Chanchal Dey(Cong.), Rajit Das(BJP), Pabitra Mohon Jamatia (IPFT), Ranjit Das (Amara Bangali), Nakhratra Jamatia (INPT), Nanda Kishore Debbarma (TSP).
