AMC task force evicted around 80 shops for illegally occupying the Government plot

AGARTALA, Feb 3 (TIWN): Around 80 illegally setup of makeshift shops were evicted by AMC task force under the supervision of SDM West Manik Lal Das on Tuesday late night at Jogendra Nagar Rail station area.

Talking to TIWN correspondent on Wednesday, Sub-Inspector Sukanta Sen Choudhury said that around 70 to 80 illegally setups of makeshift shops on the Government area were evicted on Tuesday late night.

Besides, he also mentioned that the shops were evicted after the shop owners were sent prior notice and later when they did not shifted their shops the police has also urged the owners for several times.

After the shop owners have not followed the instruction of the authority the administration forcefully evicted the makeshift shops with the assistance of Tripura police, said Sub-Inspector.

Besides, he also mentioned that the shopkeepers were returned the items.

However, the initiative has been taken to clear the area in order to provide people more space in the railway station.

The drive was headed by SDM Manik Lal Das, DCM and assisted by Tripura Police on Tuesday late night.

Besides, Sub-Inspector Choudhury mentioned that the Bharatiya Janta Party office and Auto Rickshaw Union office has been left after the members of the office assured that they will shift the office within a short period of time.

On the other hand, resentment brews among the locals that accept the Bharatiya Janta Party office and Auto Rickshaw Union all the shops were evicted.

Eviction is the removal of a tenant from rental property by the landlord. In some jurisdictions it may also involve the removal of persons from premises that were foreclosed by a mortgagee.

Though the procedures for evictions differ depending on the specific laws of various jurisdictions, the general process consists of giving notice to the tenant to leave the premises, if the tenant fails to leave the premises, filing a lawsuit to evict the tenant and regain possession of the property and appearing in court, and if the tenant still remains in the premises, forcibly removing the tenant from them via legal action.

However, resentment brews among the locals saying that now where they will go to continue their business.
