UDAIPUR, Jan 28 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, 2 people were left seriously injured in a road accident when a goods loaded truck and a bike head on collided with each other at Chandrapur Colony area under Udaipur sub-division on Thursday morning.

The incident triggered huge panic among the people when the bike rider and the pillion rider slipped off from the bike after the goods loaded truck hit the bike.

The incident took place on Thursday morning when a goods loaded truck bearing number TR01B1671 was heading towards sabroom from Udaipur and a bike bearing number TR03D5954 was heading towards Udaipur from Dataram area and head on collided with each other at Chandrapur colony under Udaipur sub-division.

The victims are identified as Debasish Rog and Tapash Roy and are resident of Udaipur subdivision.

Police is suspecting that due to reckless driving the truck has hit the bike and Police is also suspecting that driver was intoxicated and lost control over the brakes.

Road accidents-leading to death and injuries has become a regular stuff. Recently in a road mishap on Thursday two people were left seriously injured.

Getting alarm the RK Pur police reached the spot and immediately rushed the injured to the nearby hospital. Police has however detained the vehicles and the accused truck driver has managed to flee from the spot.

The sourced also said that a fire service crew also rushed to the spot and rescued the victims in critical condition and got them admitted in the Gomotri district hospital.

However, the victims are undergoing treatment at hospital, but as per the doctors there is least chance of survival as both of them are critically injured. Police is further investigating the case.

It is to be mentioned here; Tripura Traffic Police and Tripura Police Department have been facing a very tough time to prevent the number of road accidents in the state which are allegedly claiming life of several people for last few months. The numbers of road mishaps are alarmingly increased in the state for last few months but the traffic police department is surprisingly playing silent role instead of taking proper initiative over the road accident issue.

However, by the time police reached the spot the driver managed to flee and Police is further investigating the case.

A case under relevant Sections in this regard has been registered at RK pur police station and alert has been launched to nab the truck driver, who escaped from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
