AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): Inter School Science based Drama Competition 2015-2016 has been organized at Umakanta English Medium Academy on Thursday.

The programme is of two-day long.

During the programme, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Debashish Chakraborty has inaugurated the programme.

Senior Scientific Officer of TSCST Bhabotosh Datta, District Education Officer A.K Reangs and other were also present.

It is to be mentioned here that drama is a strong medium of communication. In order to develop dramatic skills and promote acting ability among students, Study Hall, organized an Inter School Drama Competition.

Drama is the specific mode of narrative, typically fictional, represented in performance. The enactment of drama in theatre, performed by actors on a stage before an audience, presupposes collaborative modes of production and a collective form of reception.

The earliest form of Indian drama was the Sanskrit drama that is said to have its framework directly given by Lord Shiva who used these techniques to pray to Lord Vishnu. Between the 1st century AD and the 10th was a period of relative peace in the history of India during which hundreds of modern plays were written.
