AGARTALA, Jan 26 (TIWN): Indian artistic gymnast Dipa Karmakar with the support from her coach Biseshwar Nandi performed in the 67th celebration program of Republic Day on Tuesday at Assam Riffles ground.
As a part of the celebration, Indian artistic gymnast Dipa Karmakar has participated in the cultural program held at Assam riffles ground.
Apart from Dipa Karmakar, the students of several schools also participated in the celebrations of the republic day on January 26.
To mark the celebration of Republic Day, almost all the schools, colleges, government and non-government organizations participated in the cultural program.
Indian artistic gymnast Dipa Karmakar, born 9 August 1993 in Agartala represents India at the international circuit. She came to recognition when she won a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, held at Glasgow becoming the first Indian female gymnast to do so in the history of the games.
Eight different countries were represented by eight vaulters in the finals of the event at the Gymnastics World Championship.
