Winter expected to lessen its grip in the state in the coming days : MET official talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): The weather man in its forecast said that it is expected that the winter is to lessen its grip in the state.

Tripura might experience slight respite from cold with an increase in minimum temperature to 11 degree Celsius, even as fog affected movement of transport services in the state.

The weather man said that the minimum temperature to stay fix at 11 degree Celsius followed by partly cloudy sky on Saturday morning.

Mercury maintained its upward trend in entire Tripura, bringing relief to residents even as the weather department says that the fresh wind blow to lessen its grip in the state.

However, No major change is expected in weather conditions in the state in next 24 hours, a forecast said.

On the other hand there was no major change in the day temperature on Friday that hovered around 26 degree Celsius marks. Minimum temperature recorded was 11 degrees Celsius in the day and there is possibility that the temperature will further rise.

In its forecast for Saturday, weatherman said that the sky to remain clear followed by light fog.

Tripura had recorded its lowest temperature in winter at 2° C in 1972.

Mostly during the winter season, life observed crippled across the state because of the chill and attendance seem to get poor in most schools and government offices. The streets wore a deserted look and business establishments were closed.

Generally, in Tripura winter starts from November. This year it has started from the month of December.

The forecast also said that there is no chance of rainfall in the state in the coming days.
