KAILASHAHAR, Jan 12 (TIWN): Despite of strict vigilance in the border areas of Kailashahar, cattle smuggling and intrusion of smuggling goods goes rampant.

On yet another bizarre incident, the miscreants managed to smuggle two more bulls through border on Sunday late night amid of strict vigilance by the Border Security Force from Samrul Par under Kailashahar Sub-Division.

The incident took place on Sunday late night and the miscreants smuggled the bulls through cutting the fence. The locals mentioned that the miscreants took the advantage of the non-operational flood lights in the area and the foggy night, as everything was nearly invisible.

Getting alarm about the incident, SDPO along with other officials visited the area. However, investigation is going on in the area.

Resentment brews among residents saying that despite of strict vigilance the miscreants managed to smuggle the cows from the area.

It has been prolonged many days that the smuggling of cow has been going on but no initiative has been taken to curb the rising smuggling in the area, complained the locals.

A section of people alleged that due to the under table connection between police and smugglers the police are not doing anything to stop the smuggling of Phensedyl and contraband items.

They further said that every time the officials assure for proper investigation and to keep strict vigilance but the miscreants somehow manages to steal the cows from the area.

People have shown resentment saying that the continuous smuggling in the sub-division tension prevails in the area and leading people to face huge loss in the business.

It is suspected that the miscreants have cut down the fence earlier, that is why the miscreants could smuggle the bulls in a short period.

The locals complained that the smuggling has rampant over the area. Besides, they also stated that it is happening due to negligence in strict vigilance if BSF.

It is to be mentioned here that this is the fifth case of cattle smuggling in three months.

However, a force of few village members was also formed to keep strict vigilance but yet failed to curb down the rampant smuggling.

Despite of strict vigilance in the border areas which includes both the fencing and non-fence areas the smuggling of illegal items goes rampant in various areas of the State.
