Demands raised for the Supplementary Grant for the financial year 2015-16: Tripura Assembly

AGARTALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): On the second day of the Winter Session assembly in Tripura, Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha on Monday presented the demands for the Supplementary Grant for the financial year 2015-2016.

Further, Finance Minister also presented the Motion for the Vote on Account for a part of the financial year 2016-2017.

Besides, discussion was done the introduction of The Tripura Appropriation (no.- 3) Bill 2016 (Tripura Bill no.- 4 of 2016) and also on the introduction of The Tripura Appropriation (no.- 4) Bill 2016 (Tripura Bill no.- 5 of 2016).

However, on the first day of the assembly a revolt has been witnessed over the issue of arresting accused expelled MLA Monaranjan Acharjee for raping a minor girl.

Where Opposition Leader Sudip Roy Barman asked the Speaker why former MLA Manoranjan Acharjee was not arrested despite registration of an FIR against him.

The FIR, lodged last month, had accused Acharjee of raping an eight-year-old girl inside the party office in Gomati districts Amarpur.

It is worthy to mention that the Tripura police after getting green signal from Tripura’s CM Manik Sarkar arrested the rapist MLA Monaranjan Acharjee from his own residence on Saturday at Amarpur.

However, the first day of the Winter Session Assembly begun with the speech of Governor Tathagata Roy at State Assembly House of Capital Complex.

The assembly session will continue for more three days, as it is of five days session.

However, Saturday and Sunday the assembly session was suspended and restarted from Monday and will continue till Thursday.
