AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): Two big projects are going to be implemented in this new year 2016 and also a beneficial one as works for two strategic projects –international gateway of Internet and commencement of BG conversion work is going to be functional.

If the State is connected with submarine cable at Cox Bazar in Bangladesh, it will have a big impact in the State’s socio-economic condition.

Currently, State’s Internet service is very unstable because of ‘distance’ leading to not only difficulty to the people but also hamper the normal functioning of different government offices. Not only Tripura, the entire Northeastern region would be benefited once the Internet connectivity is established with Bangladesh’s submarine cable. Also, the State would be third in the country to have such Internet gateway after Mumbai and Chennai.

The State also looks set to have BG rail network by early next year as conversion work is in full swing. According to latest report, the BG conversion work from Badarpur to Agartala has been gaining ground with every passing day.

According to source, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) would bring more train upto Agartala by March giving a major fillip to the State’s connectivity. And, if everything goes in right direction, people of the State would see BG rail upto Agartala by March, 2016.
