Allegation has once again come against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, with a teachers’ forum under the banner of Joint Movement Committee of Teachers (J.M.C.T.) has demonstrated their long agitation against state govt. in a press meet on Friday at Madhyapara and raised voice against its continuous deprivation to its employees, for dispensation of “poor pay-scale” in comparison with the central govt pay-scale.

During the meet, Ranajit Dey, Chairman of J.M.C.T., Pareshnath Bhattachatjee, Vice-chairman, Arup Bhattacharjee, Partha sarthi Haldal (Joint Conveners) were presented.

Demanding to hike their pay scale to the level of the central pay scale, the teachers’ forum under the banner of Joint Movement Committee of Teachers (J.M.C.T.) to hold mass demonstration on 28th February 2016 at Agartala.

During the press meet JMCT committee members claimed, “Tripura’s CM on March 31st, 2015 announced to pay the govt. teachers as per the central scale, but when the reality came out the figures showed unlike. It seems it was a planned deprivation to its employees to fool the people. State govt. then almost promised to pay more, but when the original pay-scale came in front, there was a huge difference between the salary of state’s employees and central govt. employees.

So there remains a huge gap between the salaries, provided by central govt. and state govt.

The members of the committee further said that when the central govt.’s 7th pay commission will be implemented from the matter will be gone worsen. Tripura Govt., if basing on the present pay band/pay scale applies the “2 scale theory”, nothing will be developed, alleged JMCT.
