AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): Tripura Publishers’ Guild to organize Agartala Book Fair in the State on December 26 at the premises of Umakanta Academy.
The programme will be of twelve days and will continue till January 7, 2016.
Detailing about the programme, Secretary Subrata Deb in a press conference at Umakanta School premises said that the programme will continue till 5 pm. Besides, there will be around 60 book stalls in the fair.
Speaking at the press conference on Friday, Deb also said that alongwith Tripura Publishers, Publishers from Guwahati, Delhi and Kolkata will also participate in the book fair.
The 12-day long programme is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dr. Prafullajit Sinha, said Secretary Subrata Deb.
Besides, High Court’s Judge Subashish Talapatra, Writer Bikoch Choudhury and others are expected to remain present.
It is to be mentioned here that the 34th annual Agartala Book Fair- 2016 has been scheduled to begin on February 13 at premises Umakanta Academy.
The fair will start from 3 pm in the afternoon and will continue till 8 pm in the evening. On the off days, the fair stalls will be opened at 2 pmin the afternoon and will continue till 8.30 pm in the evening.
Reportedly, the 12 days long fair will be continuing till 24 February 2016. Besides, it has been reported that there will be around 119 books stalls where alongwith Tripura publishers, publishers from Delhi, Kolkata, Bangladesh and elsewhere will participate.
