AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): Tripura is being celebrating the most awaited Christmas celebration with Minimum temperature of 9 degree Celsius, confirmed Meteorological Department on Thursday.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, Met official said that the minimum temperature on December 25 will be minimum 9 Degree Celsius and maximum will be 25 Degree Celsius.

Besides, he also mentioned that on Thursday the minimum temperature will be 9 Degree Celsius.

“The will be thick layer of fog in the morning and there is no possibility of rain but the temperature will fall in the coming days”, said Met official. But in the coming days there is expectation of dense fog which may lead to drop in temperature, added.

Meteorological forecast predicts that the sky to remain partly cloudy and the morning will be foggy.

However, he also said that there is no chance of rainfall in the state in the coming days but the minimum temperature will further fall.

Tripura had recorded its lowest temperature in winter at 2° C in 1972.

Mostly during the winter season, life observed crippled across the state because of the chill and attendance seem to get poor in most schools and government offices. The streets wore a deserted look and business establishments were closed.

Generally, in Tripura winter starts from November. This year it has started from the month of December.

It is to be mentioned here keeping eye on the starting of winter season the bhutia market shopkeepers arrive around mid-November. But they have come earlier this year in order to avoid last minute hassles.

However, the fall in the temperature in the coming days which will cripple the life of the State. Besides, if there rain comes than it would hamper the cultivation of the farmers.

Farmers need to exercise extra caution and take remedial measures, though there is no sign of rainfall but the sudden rainfall may spoil the prolonged hard work of the farmers.
