AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Jamatia Hoda, a social organisation on Thursday organised a felicitation program to felicitate CM Manik Sarkar at Khejur Bagan.

CM Manik Sarkar along with few other members of council were also present in the program. They were also felicitated by the Jamatia Hoda society.

Jamatia Hoda is the institution that looks after the rights and safeguard of the culture of the Jamatia community.

The members of the Jamatia Hoda society, identified as Pulindra Kumar Jamatia and Padmalila jamatia felicitated the dignitaries on the dias.

Jamatia Hoda is the Social organization of Jamatia clans of Tripuri people, formed more than 400 years ago. It is one of the strongest social body in Tripura. It has a very strong rules and regulation to guide the members of Jamatia community. It had been running a English Medium boarding school, Garia Academy, of it's own, under the Banner of Baba Garia Mission. In spite of financial constrain and other problem the Goria Academy has become a model for others to follow. The school is affiliated with CBSE Delhi and the school has about 450 students studying and now it is teaching upto Class IX standard.

However, along with CM Manik Sarkar, Minister Aghore Debbarma, Minister Khagendra Jamatia, Minister Naresh Chandra Jamatia along with other dignitaries remained present in the program.
