Massive fire broke out at GB hospital : Panic prevails for an hour

AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): The people at the GB hospital on Thursday narrowly escaped death when fire broke out in the kitchen of the AGMC hospital triggering massive panic in the hospital premises. A fire broke out on in the kitchen of the GB hospital from cooking gas cylinder leakage. Fire tenders have arrived at the location and the fire was brought under control with the joint efforts of the common people and the fire service crew. Patients were distressed as fire erupted in the kitchen of the hospital.The process for controlling the fire began approximately after few minutes of the fire incident. Panic gripped the area, when such a massive fire broke out in the kitchen of the hospital. Reportedly, the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday morning when the workers of the kitchen witnessed smoke spreading wide along with the flames and immediately realized that fire broke out in the kitchen from gas leakage.The eye witness also said that the fire broke out due to the leakage of the gas from the cylinder. Getting alarm about the fire incident huge police force has reached to the spot immediately. This is one of the oldest hospitals in the state and is also the state referral hospital. However, the people and the patients narrowly escaped from a massive fire incident as the fire was brought under control with the initiatives of the common people at the hospital.

There is no report of any suspicious incident behind the massive fire break out and also there is no report of casualty so far, confirmed police.

A tragedy was narrowly averted at a hospital after a fire broke out on its premises. The occurrence of the fire saw dozens of patients being evacuated although nobody was reported injured in the incident. Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control within an hour, an official said. The fire suspected to have been caused by a gas leakage was said to have started inside the kitchen of the hospital and spread rapidly and produced a lot of smoke.

The flames gave rise to dense smoke and hospital staff and security initially tried to control the fire with extinguishers. They also smashed window panes to release the smoke which had accumulated in the operational area before the fire officials arrived at the spot
