AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): After passage of almost nine months the construction work is still stuck at the preliminary stage of load testing.

The construction agency is still engaged in carrying out the load test at Nagerjala and there is no much progress in the construction site.  Once the load test will be done, the construction will be extended further.

Day by day the pace of construction is getting delayed and alternatively it is raising the traffic chaos in the narrow lanes of the city.

However, the agency workers claimed that the cement casting for the pillars will began in next three days.  Time will say how much time it takes to begin the construction work.

It is the first flyover of the state connecting fire brigade to Battala. The flyover will ease traffic movement to a great extent.

Traffic congestion has now become regular scenario. With the on-going pillaring work expanded at the busiest spot of Nagerjala the issue of traffic congestions came into public eye with the regular massive traffic jam from Bordowali-Battala road, disrupting the convenient movement of traffic on the road during office and school hours. Through traffic managers are being deployed on the streets but no relief from the traffic jam.

Considering the construction of fly-over at Battala-Bordowali area, and further coupled with limited road infrastructure and paucity of parking space, has been playing havoc with the traffic management in the city.

As the soil test for Battala is completed the authority has decided to go ahead with load test at Battala and after months the agency is still now stuck to the point of load test.

Drilling for the construction of pillar is going on in full swing as it is necessary to set up the pillars. Heavy machines are catered from outside the state to carry out the construction works.  Reportedly, mud levelling machines are also used for levelling the mud as according to the blueprint two pillars will be build at the two ends of the howrah bridge.
