Kamalpur: International Drama Festival to be held at Kamalpur

KAMALPUR, Dec 23 (TIWN): After a pause of almost six years’, the cultural arena of Kamalpur got all set to rejuvenate in the coming New Year of 2016 and this opportunity ushered as the reputed socio-cultural amateur troop Durbar organized its bi-annual International Drama Festival next year. Regarding the Bimal Sinha Memorial International Drama Festival the organizers arranged a Press Meet at Kamalpur Press Club this morning.

This edition of the Bimal Sinha International Drama Festival would commence from 5th January, 2016. And it would conclude on 10th January, 2016. Probably, Minister Ratan Bhowmik would inaugurate the festival. In total four drama troops from Assam, Kolkata and neighboring Bangladesh would stage their performances at Kamalpur Town Hall. On the inaugural day drama troop “Bhabikaal” from Silchar would stage “Macbeth”. On the next day, i.e. 06th January, Natyabhumi of Agartala would stage “Aami Madhabi”.

On 07th January “Natyabhumi” would stage “Moneybag”. “Anan” from Kolkata would stage their two performances on 08th and 09th January. On 08th January, they would perform “Kahen kobi Kalidas” and on 09th January they would perform “Konko-Lilabati Kotha”. On the concluding day i.e. on 10th January, “Subachan Natya Gosthi” from Dhaka would stage “Mahajoner Nau”.

The organizers would bring out a souvenir in this regard. The budget as estimated so-far would be almost 5, 00, 000 of rupees. The organizers sought sincere and cordial co-operation from all the concerned to make their venture a great success.

In the Press Meet, Secretary of Durbar Narayan Dutta, members Pankaj Dey, Anirudhdha Dey, Badal Deb were present.
