KAILASHAHAR, Dec 22 (TIWN): On yet another bizarre incident, the miscreants managed to smuggle two more cow through border on Sunday late night amid of strict vigilance by the Border Security Force.

Just six days passed when unidentified miscreants had managed to steal three calves from a house and smuggled through the border fencing area.

Reportedly, the two cows of the 55-year old farmer Dhirendra Malakar have been stolen on Sunday late night through the border fencing areas. The miscreants has smuggled the cow through the fencing area of 1855 gate of Lathiyapura Panchayat under Kailashahar Sub-Division.

Getting alarm about the incident, Additional SP of the Unakoti District Anup Kumar Das, SDPO of Kailashahar Ratan Majumder, Company commandant of 55bn BSF Binode Singh and Panchayat Pradhan Suniti Malakar rushed to the spot and invigilated the area.

Resentment brews among residents saying that despite of strict vigilance the miscreants managed to smuggle the cows from the area.

It has been prolonged many days that the smuggling of cow has been going on but no initiative has been taken to curb the rising smuggling in the area, complained the locals.

A section of people alleged that due to the under table connection between police and smugglers the police are not doing anything to stop the smuggling of Phensedyl and contraband items.

They further said that every time the officials assure for proper investigation and to keep strict vigilance but the miscreants somehow manages to steal the cows from the area.

People have shown resentment saying that the continuous smuggling in the sub-division tension prevails in the area and leading people to face huge loss in the business.

Most of the residences in the area are dependent over milk business or farming. Therefore, the continuous smuggling has brews resentment among the public of the area.

However, despite of strict vigilance in the border areas which includes both the fencing and non-fence areas the smuggling of illegal items goes rampant in various areas of the State.

It has not become possible to provide fencing in all side of the border. Thus the smuggling of cattle, human trafficking, fake currency, kidnapping and thefts are quite rampant along the border as there is lack of proper security arrangements in some parts of the bordering areas.
