Dead body of an aged widow recovered at Kamalpur

KAMALPUR, Dec 21 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, a dead body of an aged widow namely Balika Goala (90) has been found in a pond near to her residence at Baligaon, Datta para on Monday morning.

 The incident has created much tensions among the locals and according to them the woman was ill and in not a condition to go into that pond. However, OC Swapan Dasgupta rushed to the spot after receiving the news and started investigation.

According to the local people, Balika Goala, wife of Late Durgaprasad Goala used to reside at the abandoned residence of some Phani Deb of the same area. She was left with no spouse and hence none was there to look after her. At the old age she could not possessed clear eye-sight during nights. She also could not move with vitality due to her old age.

Hence, she often went to other people’s house instead of her during night. And the local people helped her to reach her residence. Another family was residing at the same residence with her. From Sunday noon, she was missing and it was on Monday morning her dead body was found in the almost dried pond of neighboring Joynarayan Debroy.

After primary observation, OC Swapan Dasgupta said that, the aged lady might come to the pond for any work and fell into the pond upside down. Due to her old age she could not come out of the water and died. However, police registered a case and started investigation.
