AGARTALA / KOLKATA, Dec 21 (IANS) Hailing industrialists for creating employment, spiritual guru Ravi Shankar on Sunday blamed the Indian Communists for labelling businessmen as exploiters. "The Communists led by CPM have labelled industrialists as exploiters. Instead of looking at industrialists as one creating jobs for thousands, the Communists have labelled them as exploiters. In fact, this has been etched into the psyche of West Bengal, Tripura and Kerala," Ravi Shankar said at an event organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Sunday. He blamed the Communists for driving away industrialists and causing strikes."A businessman takes crores of rupees as loans to sustain an industry and creates jobs. Instead of looking at that, they (Communists) make him feel ashamed and embarrassed to the extent that he has to run away."Not only that, every now and then there is strike. Why? Because the guy is an industrialist, hence an exploiter," he said.Asserting that the psyche against industrialists was far from the truth, the spiritual leader called upon the industry and the government to work together for the development of the society.
"This psyche is far from the truth. We need to turn this around and that can happen only when the media, faith-based organizations’, the industry and the government work together".

As part of the Centre's Look East policy, India is engaging with Bangladesh and other Saarc nations to bring about development in the northeastern region, BJP leader Ram Madhav said earlier in October at New Delhi."The emotional disconnect between the people of the northeast and the rest of the country is our own creation," Madhav, BJP's national general secretary and in-charge of the northeast, said.

He was speaking during a panel discussion on "Northeast's strategic importance and Act East policy" organised as part of the ongoing Northeast Festival here."We, as a government, are committed to bridge this emotional disconnect," he said, adding that India's development would not be complete without the development of the northeast.

The Indian government is taking many steps for the development of the region and is talking to Bangladesh and other Saarc nations as well in this regard. As part of our Look East Policy, we are looking to improve the physical connectivity and infrastructure in the region," he said.
According to the BJP leader, there are three main reasons for the northeast lagging behind in development compared to other parts of the country -- emotional disconnect, physical disconnect and bad governance.
Unfortunately for Tripura, both Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and IT Minister Tapan Chakraborty yet to learn using E-Mails or basics of IT, top level Ministers ignorance destroying Tripura’s bright future in IT after establishment of 3rd Internet Gateway at Agartala. These ZERO visioned leaders  not only destroying Tripura’s future in IT, also destroying future of present generation and future generation of IT educated youths of Tripura.
"I believe that clean and efficient governance is also required for the development of the region," Madhav said.

"Our priority is on developing good relations with our neighbours, and the biggest beneficiary of that would be the northeastern region.”, BJP leader added.
