KALYANPUR, Dec 19 (TIWN): A water pump machine worth Rs. 1.50 Lakh has been wrecked down by some unidentified miscreants on Friday late night at Durgapur Village.

Getting alarmed about the incident, the locals of the Durgapur Village rushed to the spot. The incident has created anxiety among the people of the area.

After the locals noticed the incident, they have informed Kalyanpur Police. Police rushed to the spot and started with the investigation and filed down complain.

Reportedly, a farmer namely Atindra Deb first saw the broken motor when he was on the way to his field for work.

According to his statement, the door of the Machine House was close but the tin barricade of the machine house was cut down by the miscreants.

Besides, Village Pradhan Sanjit Datta informed that initiatives were going on to shift the Pump Machine from one place to another. However, talking to the police he also mentioned that it can be a trap to bring end to the development in the village.

Local are expecting the thieves had hopped in through Bhairabh Tilla village as the village is near to Durgapur Village.

It has been reported that after hammering the motor also the thieves could not carry away the motor as it was very heavy. But they left the motor in a poor condition and therefore, it has gone out of order.

However, the locals demanded to arrest the thieves as soon as possible.

Despite of strengthening of police and other security forces by improving their efficiency, increasing the number of police stations, regular police-public interaction under policing programme and developing police intelligence networks theft and other crimes are increasing day by day leading harassment to the people.
