15 elected candidates of Teliamura have taken oath

TELIAMURA, Dec 19 (TIWN): All together 15 newly elected candidates in the recent Municipal Council election of Teliamura on Saturday have taken oath in front of the Teliamura Town Hall.

Reportedly, Sajal Kumar Dey has taken oath as Chairman and Joydeb Guha as the Vice-Chairman of Teliamura Municipal Council.

All the newly elected 15 members were administered oath by District Magistrate of Khowai N. Darlong.

However, along with 45 seats in Agartala Municipal Corporation Left has swept all the fifteen seats in the Telimura Sub-Division.

Left Front led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on the recent civic poll swept the civic polls across the state, winning 291 among 310 seats all across the State.

Meanwhile, Congress has captures 13 seats among 310 and BJP somehow manages to grab only 4 leaving others with two seats in the civic poll.

Among all the 886 candidates, including 429 women, from all parties contested the civic polls.

Among the dignitaries, Chief Whip of Assembly Samir Deb Sarkar, MLA Manindra Das, Gouri Das and other were also present.

Altogether 657 polling booths were set up. Besides, the total number of Candidates are 886, among them 272 candidates are of Congress, 273 are of Left Front and 255 candidates are of BJP.

A total of six candidates each had contested election from Forward bloc, RSP and CPI. Apart from this, for the Municipal election 32 candidates contested from Trinamool Congress Party, one from CPI-ML, Amra Bangali- 17 and five candidates from Tripura People’s Party.
