Elected members of Udaipur Municipal Election to take oath on Dec 18

AGARALA, Dec 18 (TIWN): All the 18 elected candidates of Udaipur in the recent Municipal election, has scheduled to take oath on December at Udaipur Town Hall.

According to the Official report, Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik is expected to remain present as Chief Guest in the programme.

In all the 21 seats of the Udaipur Municipal council, Left front has captured in altogether 18 wards and congress has gained the margin by winning in only 3 wards.

However, all the candidates of Udaipur selected in the Civic poll would likely to take oath on December 18.  

With the declaration of the results of the civic poll, LF has captured the majority by winning in 18 wards at Udaipur Municipal council and only 3 wards is won by congress.

Besides, the candidates selected for the Agartala Municipal Corporation would likely to tale oath on December 21.

According to the reports, Dr. Prafullajit Sinha would be taking oath as the Mayor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, Samar Chakraborty as Deputy Mayor and others.

However, once again the Left Front has swept the all the civic bodies including Agartala Municipal Corporation. Besides, the opposition could not create any impact to win over the election.  

It is expected that among elected 21 members of Udaipur Municipal Council, Subrata Deb of ward number 9 and Ranjan Krishna Das of ward number 11 would take oath as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for next five year.  

Left Front led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on the recent civic poll swept the civic polls across the state, winning 291 among 310 seats all across the State.

Reportedly, among 49 votes altogether 45 seats were captured by Left Front and four are by Congress whereas BJP and others were left with zero votes.

Meanwhile, Congress has somehow managed to capture 13 seats all across the State, Bharatiya Janta Party with 4 and others with 2 seats.

Among all the 886 candidates, including 429 women, from all parties contested the civic polls.

During the programme, it is expected that Sabadhipati of Gomati Zila Parishad Suniti Saha, Assistant Sabashipati of Gomati Zila Parishad Dinabandhu Das, DM of Gomati District Sonal Goyel, Police Superitendent Prabir Majumder and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Udaipur Sub-Division Subhashish Bandyopadhyay will remain present.
