AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): With the passing days, traffic jam is rapidly increasing in the narrow roads of Tripura. Although the state government has taken the initiative to construct a flyover to curb the traffic jam but it is seen that traffic chaos is rising in an alarming rate.

At every hour of day, the main junction of battala is seen crowded with vehicles blocking the free movement of traffic in the city.

It is expected that for the next two years and possibly more the traffic congestion is going to get worse.

Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path which is expected to reduced the traffic congestion.

The first ever 2-lane flyover in the capital city will lower the traffic jam by at least 40% to 45% and it will make a smooth fast track movement of the vehicles but the period of the construction is creating havoc.

The main motive of creating the Fly-Over Bridge is to seek solution to hectic traffic jam at Battala. As day by day the population and the number of vehicles are increasing, the problem is arising in traffic system too.

The administration was suppose undertake several issues relating to the traffic system, road clearance, power lines and others prior to the construction but failure of the department  came forward with massive traffic jam resulting the commuters face   heavy disturbances with their vehicles on the road.

Apart from the construction work of the fly-over, unruly attitude of CITU leaders is also responsible for leading to this traffic jam. Day after day even after strict instruction of the department to commute passengers from the Nagaerjala stand, the drivers still continues to load and unload passengers on the main road resulting traffic chaos in the city..

Increasing vehicular traffic has only made the matters worse and all the time more dangerous for commuters in reaching their respective destinations. At any given point of time, it is utter chaos at the roundabout, which witnesses at least thousand vehicles crossing over the same road.

Bordowali-Battala, an important landmark in the city, gave the worst trauma to road users, for it is a Herculean task to cross the junction over the Howrah Bridge particularly during the peak hours due to gigantic traffic jam.

With the beginning of the construction work of the fly-over work at Battala the issue of traffic congestions came into public eye with the massive traffic jam from Bordowali-Battala disrupting the convenient movement of traffic on the road during office and school hours.
