AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar in a press meet on Thursday at CPI-M party office said that Dr. Prafullajit Sinha will once again take oath as mayor of 49 seated Agartala Municipal corporations (AMC).

He further said that, Samar Chakrabarty will be the deputy Mayor of 49 seated Agartala Municipal corporations (AMC) for next five consecutive years.

After securing the landslide victory in the just concluded polls to altogether 20 civic bodies including AMC, the left has already chosen their favourable candidates and is all set to take oath on December 21 at Rabindra Bhawan.

The Urban Development department had earlier already issued notification to the DM’s to firm the newly elected mayor, chairpersons and chairman, councillors and member of civic bodies.

It is to be mention here that Shakti bhattacharjee and Maniklal Nath is elected as chairperson and Vice chairperson for the Dharmanagar Municipal Corporation.   From Kailasahar Municipal council Minati Bhattacharjee and Manish Saha are elected as chairperson and Vice chairperson for the next five years.

Adressing the press meet, he further elaborated that In Kumarghat Municipal Council, Anamika Malakar and ratan Chakraborty are all set to take oath as the chairperson and Vice chairperson.

Chandan  Bhowmik and Kanai pal are the elected chairperson and vice chairperson for the Ambassa municipal council.

Sukla sengupta (ward no: 5) is the chairperson of Knowai Municipal council while Kanan Datta is ahead in race as the vice chairperson.

From Teliamura municipal Council Sajal Kumar Dey and Joydeb Guha are elected as the Chairperson and the vice chairperson.

Mira Bhattacharjee and Sankar Saha are elected as chairperson and Vice chairperson for the next five years from Ranirbazar Municipal council.

In Mohanpur Municipal Council, Subhas Chandra Debnath and Jharna majumder are the new chairperson and the vice chairperson.  On the other side Purnima Chakraborty and Partha pratim Majumder is the upcoming chairperson and vice chairperson from Bisalgarh Municipal council.

Suresh Das is the chairperson and respectively Jakir Hussein is elected as the vice chairperson from Melagarh Municipal council.

In the 21 member of Udaipur munbicipal council, winning candidate of ward number 9 Subrata Deb and Ranjan Krishna Das of ward number 11 are the chairperson and the vice chairperson for the next five years.

CPI-M state secretary Bijan dhar also said that two candidates Subhra Mitra of ward number 9 and Subal Roy of ward number 11 are the chair person and vice chairperson from the belonia municipal council.  While in Santir Bazar Municipal Council Ratan Chandra Das from ward number 5 and Manik Sur are the chairperson and the vice chairperson, added Dhar.

However, on the other side, Arundhati Das and Nihar Kanti Das are elected as the chairperson and the vice chairperson from Panisagar Nagar Panchayat.   Kamalpur NP has elected Subrata Bhattacharjee and Kanai Pal as the chairperson and the vice chairperson for the next tenure of 5 years.

In Jirania NP Pradip Debnath and Amita Datta are the elected chairperson and the vice chairperson.

Kamala Majumder and Abu Taher are elected from Sonamura Nagar panchayat as the chairperson and the vice chairperson.  Amarpur NP has selected Tarun Chakraborty and Dipali sen as the chairperson and the vice chairperson. However, from Sabroom NP Ruma Majumder and Mahitosh Chakraborty are the chairperson and the vice chairperson, said Dhar in a press meet.

Along with CPI-M state Secretary Bijan Dhar, Gautam Das also remain present in the press meet. It is to be mention here that oath taking ceremony will be conducted on December 21 at Rabindra satabarshiki Bhawan.
