Two country made guns recovered

KALYANPUR, Dec 17 (TIWN): Acting on a tip-off secret source, Kalyanpur Police on Thursday early morning recovered two country made guns under a bridge of Margan Para under Kamalnagar of Kalyanpur.

Reportedly, Kalyanpur police on Thursday early morning recovered two country made gun from a jute sack recovered from under a bridge of Margan Para. However, the police could not arrest anyone from the spot.

According to the police report, Kalyanpur Police on Wednesday late night received secret information that some miscreants are going to smuggle country made gun. Acting on the tip-off secret information, Kalyanpur Police rushed to the spot and recovered a jute sack with country made gun inside it.

However, the investigation is going on to arrest the main culprit.

Despite of several initiatives taken by the Border Security Force in the fencing and the non-fencing area, several smuggling cases has been registered but till day no initiatives has been taken to curb the crime, complained the locals.

Taking advantage of the non-fencing area in the State, miscreants are smuggling various contraband items. Besides, human trafficking, kidnapping and smuggling of various illegal goods and cow has rampant in the border adjacent areas.

Despite the wire fencing across the border area Tripura has become the hub for transporting the prohibited goods. Illegal intrusion of the extremist and miscreants, smuggling of contraband items and cattle’s across Tripura to Bangladesh and vice-versa has become an everyday-issue.

According to the source, hundreds of smugglers based in Tripura are sending spurious Phensedyl, a cough syrup, with an exceedingly high dose of codeine and other drugs to Bangladesh. Besides, numbers of smugglers are engaged in both the sides of the border in smuggling illegal Phensedyl and liquor.

However, it is to be mentioned here that despite of several initiatives take by the Tripura Police the smuggling of good goes rampant in several border areas.
