PCC President Birajit Sinha’s comment over IPFT ‘Hill Bandh’ seems contradictory

AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): Countering the ruling Government over the issue of Hill Bandh, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Birajit Sinha stated that the demand of separate Tribal Land has popped up as the tribal community is deprived from their rights under the Left Regime which is prolonging for years.

Talking to TIWN correspondents, PCC President Birajit Sinha said that only for 10 years the State was under Congress Government whereas for prolonged 32 years the Left Front had Govern the State, still the ruling Government blames PCC for the rising demands of separate land for Tiwpra, alleged Sinha.

Besides, President Sinha also mentioned that when Sukhamoy Sen Gupta was the Chief Minister of Tripura, he had constituted a law which includes if any individuals had occupied any land of the Tribal community than they had to vacant the area.

 Sinha further stated that due to the prolonged deprivation from the basic rights has lead to the issue of separate land Tripra. Blaming the ruling Government, Sinha claims that surely the community is deprived of their right under the ruling Government that the reason why today they are demanding of separate land.

Besides, he also said that why the community did not demand any separate land during the Congress regime. Why after 32 years of rule by the Left Front, the tribal community of claiming for separate land.

It is to be mentioned here that demanding for separate Tipra Land the National Federation for New States (NFNS) comprising different movement groups including the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) has decided to adopt a new form of agitation – 12 hours of ‘hill bandh’

However, the Bharatiya Janta Party of Tripura and the Ruling Government has strongly condemns the demand and the way the IPFT supporters stage their protest, scaring people with paint in their body and disrupting public life with barbaric shouting.

IPFT with their violent barbaric outlook openly shouted at the city participating in a rally in demand of a separate state.

The strike is not only observed in Tripura but also in Kukiland, Dimaraji and Bodoland on the same day for constituting separate states under the sponsorship of National Federation for New States.
