KAILASHAHAR, Dec 6 (TIWN): Civic poll is when knocking at the door; alleged miscreants destroyed the flags festoons and the decorations of the political parties.
Reportedly, flags and decoration of CPI-M candidate of Kailashahar Municipal Council area has been destroyed and thrown out in the fields and in to drains.
Besides, banners and flags of a independent candidate has also been thrown in to drains and in the bushes.
It is to be mentioned here that the flags were torn, banners were thrown in the drain and the banners and the posters were also destroyed.
Earlier flags festoons and the decorations of BJP were destroyed. Noticing the awful activity, the candidates have registered complaint at Kailashahar Police Station.
However, Police officials, TSR, teachers and government officials who will be engaged in the election duty. The polling personnel have already casted their vote through postal ballot on December 2 and till December 4. Rest of the common people will cast their vote on December 9.
A total of 912 nomination papers were declared as valid for the upcoming civic elections. While the CPM has been able to field 298 candidates, the Congress fielded 277 candidates and 260 candidates by the BJP.
However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming Municipal election which is scheduled to be held on December 9.
