Unorganised political rallies lead to traffic glitch, disrupts normal lives across Tripura

AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): With counting days left for the municipal election which is scheduled to be held on December 9 all the political parties have geared up with the last hour election campaigning across the state.

The regular rallies and foot marches of political parties during their campaigns have been causing severe traffic jams, giving citizens a hard time.  Political rally organised in the city had brought the lives of citizens to a halt with traffic congestion that took hours to clear.

With the beginning of the countdown of municipal election, the last hour campaign has begun in full swing.  The political parties have turned movement of traffic into a chaos.

Campaign through miking, propaganda of candidates through bike rally during the office hours, have led to chaos and traffic glitch during the office hours.

It is also to be mention here that the unorganised parking of vehicles at the middle of the road and loading and unloading passengers have disrupted the vehicle movement.

The jam turns out to be so vulnerable that it requires more than half an hour to cover a distance of 3 km in two-wheeler.

Especially during the office hours the people are mainly facing trouble while travelling through this road. The road from drop gate to Fire service has become congested resulting the parking of vehicles at the no parking zone on the roadside causing inconvenience to the smooth traffic movement, and more seriously to vulnerable pedestrians.

Huge number of vehicles stranded between Drop gate and Fire service since the morning. Driving through this route has merely become impossible.  Irregular parking of vehicles, commuting passengers from any spot of the road, parking of the school vehicles at odd spots leads to the traffic jam.

Carelessness attitude of Tripura Traffic and Police Department is responsible for this traffic jam on Saturday morning.  Public has been suffering immensely day after day and it is expected that it will continue until the election camping comes to an end.  Traffic department is least bothered to take any action for curbing the tension of traffic jam at Battala.

Political rallies, untimely campaign of the party candidates and different other promotional campaign of the different political parties ahead of the municipal election has crippled the traffic movement in the route and has lead to traffic glitch.
