AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): On the one hand, where the railway services yet to start in Tripura, embezzlement hits in the construction work of the Broad Gauge Conversion. Reportedly, a 50 metre wall of newly constructed platform collapsed at the Churraibari Mega Block after three hour continues rain. It is to be mentioned here that an agency name Bharatiya has been dealing with the construction work. When the Executive Engineer Laxmi Narayan was asked about the damage, he has been showing negligence attitudes, claimed locals. The locals further alleged that the Churraibari Mega Block construction has been hit with embezzlement. Further, the local also raised allegation that Junior Engineer Om Prakash is also involved with the embezzlement. Locals complained that if the wall would not have collapsed than the poor quality of work would not have come to lime light. So far the locals complained that the BG train service is yet to start in the Tripura and embezzlement hits the construction work. Besides, with an aim to keep up the huge flow of the passengers, Broad Gauge Rupayan Sangram Committee demanded to change the timing of the Silchar – Guwahati train service. However, the committee has been demanding to change the timing of the trains for the benefits of the passengers.
It has been mentioned that the current timing of the trains are hectic for the passengers.Citizens of this town, who regularly travel on this train, also recently complained about the lack of a pantry car on the train.
It is to be mentioned here that at present the Silchar train leaves at 5 am in the early morning and from Guwahati it leaves at 12 am in the mid-night.
The passenger train from Silchar covers a distance of 210 km in eight hours to reach Guwahati through Lumding, reducing the travelling time by four hours.
The first broad gauge passenger train from Silchar to Guwahati has been flagged - off trains on November 21.
Accordingly the BG conversion work is scheduled to get completed by March 2016 but several hurdles might create problem in the conversion work but now it seems like the hurdles in the construction work may delay the commence of BG train service on time.
It is to be mentioned here that so far the state government is yet failure in the land acquisition work at Udaipur since past one year. However, such hurdles might create problem in connecting Agartala with Udaipur through BG lines.
