Civic Poll: Left Front far ahead with election campaign

AGARTALA, Nov 29 (TIWN): Compare to any other parties in the State, Left Front Party is far ahead with the election campaign.

Keeping eye on the upcoming Agartala Municipal Corporation, ten Municipal Council and six nagar panchayet election to be held on December 9, all the political parties are doing their best in campaigning.

It seems like the Left Front is easily taking the advantage of prolonged many years of rule in the State. Allegation has been raised against the Left Front that due to prolonged rule in the State the party is far ahead in every process of campaigning for the upcoming civic poll.

Besides, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday attended election rally at Panisagar in the afternoon and later attended at Dharmanagar.

The ruling party has mobilized all its resources to make two rallies grand success. And the party expect huge gathering in both rallies.

However, on Monday Chief Minister Manik Sarkar would attend a rally at Kumarghat.

The leaders claimed to serve the interests of the common people, fight communalism and pursue an independent foreign policy. It is for the people to determine what shape the alternative government is to take, urged the leaders while participating in the door to door campaign.

State chief election commissioner told reporters here that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place on December 12.  Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.

Besides, the names of SDM and BDOs appointed for one zilla parishad seat, one panchayet samiti seat and 25 wards of gram panchayet is also announced.

However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
