AGARTALA, Nov 28 (TIWN): Despite of the introduction of the modified direct benefit transfer scheme for LPG, black marketers of domestic cooking gas cylinders making the availability of the LPG cylinder tough for the consumers of Kadamtala.

Even though the consumers are booking their cylinder on time and getting their payment on their account, they are not getting their LPG on time, said sources.

In a typical scenario, a customer buys a domestic LPG cylinder from the yearly quota of 12 subsidised cylinders, which is then resold to commercial users or elsewhere at a higher price.

Reportedly, allegation has been raised against Gas agency, namely Tripureshwari and Joy ram by the locals.

However, the consumers have no other option to go elsewhere rather than to book for LPG as there are only two agencies at Kadamtala. According to sources, the black marketers are selling the cylinder in black at the rate of Rs. 1500 in various part of the area.

Despite of several complains to the higher authority, no initiatives have been taken to solve the situation. Therefore, the common people are facing harassment.

On the other hand to meet the need of the LPG cylinder in the State Indian Oil Corporation is going to establish a mega gas bottling plant at Budhjungnagar Industrial Estate in Jirania subdivision.

However, it seems the problem is likely to end with the establishment of the bottling plant at Budhjungnagar.

Reportedly, till day with a total number of around 3.24 lakh, the state has 46 LPG outlets.

Although Bishalgarh gas bottling plant has been refilling 20/22 trucks LPG cylinders per day against its installed capacity of 18 bullets, still it fails to meet the need of the people.

Therefore, planning is going to establish a new mega gas bottling plant at Budhjungnagar Industrial Estate in Jirania subdivision.
