KAMALPUR, Nov 19, (TIWN): CPIM as per their tradition started vigorous campaign in favor of their candidates issuing development. Although, the so-called development remained much under controversy and realization at actual level but the organizational strength of the party and candidature of BJP would make sure the 11-0 land sliding win for CPIM. But what remained more astonishing was the stand of the party in the solid waste management project. The party protested the project vehemently at Ambassa as a means of corruption. But it hugged the same project with extreme eagerness at Kailasahar and then at Kamalpur.
At Kamalpur, the Nagar Panchayat implemented the project at 2013-14 fiscal. To run the project two separate dumping grounds were constructed and were inaugurated with pomp and celebration beating the drum of development. Then 4 small wastes carrier vehicles were also bought costing probably 8, 00, 000 of rupees.
But mysteriously the entire process was kept under strict secrecy. The inhabitants found those vehicles roaming at the town collecting garbage.
But after six months the vehicles disappeared. And the authority claimed that, as they cancelled the contract with the implementing agency hence the agency took away the vehicles with them. But the actuality could not be suppressed. After hiding the vehicles for almost a year at the backyard of tourist lodge, the vehicles got shifted to the vehicle shed behind the Nagar Panchayat office. And the sources claimed that, the vehicles were hidden to suppress the embezzlement done in the name of the project. Now as the party leadership became sure enough of their winning so the vehicles got moved to the shed.
