Urban bodies’ poll-2015: Congress candidates filed nominations for 11 seats with huge rally: Hoped to give a tight fight to CPI-M

KAMALPUR, Nov 19 (TIWN): The Congress party candidates filed their nominations for all the 11 seats of the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat regarding the ensuing Nagar Panchayat poll here today. According the pre-scheduled program, the candidates today filed their nominations arranging a massive rally.

At around 1-30 pm the rally started from the Congress Bhavan and the rally roamed the different parts of the town. Then the District Congress President Manoj kanti Deb led the candidates to the office of the Returning Officer. Before entering the premise, Mr. Deb expressed his hope that the people would vote against the long rule of CPIM and under development. He also expressed his belief that, people would exercise their franchise in free and fair mood.

The candidates of Congress who file their nominations today were: ward no.-1=> Jagadish Debnath; ward no.-2=> Smt. Sujita Sinha; ward no.-3=> Pratap Chandra Roy; ward no.-4=> Smt. Rina Chakraborty (Bhattacharjee); ward no.-5=> Bijoy Krishna Chatterjee; ward no.-6=> Smt. Sumita Deb; ward no.-7=> Goutam Biswas; ward no.-8=> Smt. Sonali Saha; ward no.-9=> Mrinal Mondal; ward no.-10=> Smt. Prativa Das; ward no.-11=> Ashok Das (in place of Prafulla Das).
