UDAIPUR, Nov 17 (TIWN): Yet in another major breakthrough and a gesture of good will the Bangladesh Border Guards (BGB) formally handed over five kidnapped children to its Indian counterpart- BSF at Muhurichar in Belonia subdivision on Monday late night.

The children have been identified as-Priyam Hussain (8 month), Tuheen Choudhury (5), Nasreen Begum (4 and half), Abir Choudhury (11 and half) and Saheen Choudhury (9) and are residents of Purba Gokulpur under RK Pur police station.

However, after long search drive with the joint initiative of BGB and Udaipur police, all the kidnapped children returned safely who were allegedly kidnapped by Rehana Begum for trafficking on Oct 24 last.

As per the complaint lodged by the family members of the children’s, The BSF and the BGB were asked by police to keep a strict vigilance over the border area.

However, following inputs from the BSF authority, police of Companyganj of Bangladesh successfully managed to arrest the allegedly accused Rehana Begum in an allegation of trafficking five children to Bangladesh on October 26.

Accordingly the BGB has finally rescued the children and has handed over the children’s to its Indian counterpart BSF. Getting the news of the children, Udaipur SDPO Ratan Das, OC Dibyendu Roy along with the families of the children rushed to Muhurichar Check Post. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed over the children to SDPO at 7 pm.

Reportedly, the incident took place after the accused Rehana Begum (49), trafficked five children to Bangladesh. Parents of the missing children lodged FIR at RK Pur Police Station after the accused Bangladeshi woman disappeared to Bangladesh with the five children.

The family members of the children believed that the accused woman has crossed the border and went to Noakhali District of Bangladesh.

Allegedly the woman had come to visit her son and daughter-in-law in Gokulpur village under Udaipur police station in Gomati district onOctober 17.

Reportedly, Mohammed Ali Hossain (26) son of Rehana begum got married to Kalapana Bengum (24) of nearby Khilpara area and settled down in Gokulpur.

According to the family members, Rehana Begum with a temptation of showing Muharram and buying them new things and dresses took the children outside of the house and did not return to home. Getting no clue of the children arrival the parents lodged complaint to the RK Pur police station.

Receiving the RK Pur Police rushed to the house of Rehana's son Mohammed Ali Hussain in Gokulpur and started to interrogate. While interrogation Mohammed Ali Hossain's wife Kalpana Begum said that her mother in law might have taken the children across the border in Sonamura to her husband's home in Noakhali.

However, the prime accused Rehana Begum is in jail at Companyganj police station at Bangladesh.
