AGARTALA, Nov 17 (TIWN): Tripura Madrassa Teachers Association demanded to set up a separate Madrassa board and a college for the true evaluation of the students in the examination.

Apart the association also demanded for the regularisation of the teachers.

However, as a part of their demand the association members also meet Minister of Human Resource Development Smriti Irani on Sept 18 and placed deputation. Accepting the deputation, Irani said that if the state government approaches with such proposal she will definitely look into the matter.

It is to be mentioned here that Demanding to regularize all the Madrassa Teachers recruited under the recommendation of the Madrassa Advisory Committee on 31-12-2009, Tripura Madrassa (SPQEM) Teachers’ Association on November 4 organized sit and demonstration at Paradise Choumuhani.

The association further demanded to include 129 SPQEM Madrassa under Grand in aid scheme, to create a Madrassa board as soon as possible.

Highlighting on the salary issue to the State Government, the association further demanded to provide an economy scale to the Honours Graduate SPQEM teachers as per the advertisement of Government of Tripura in the year 2010. Besides, they also urged to regularize the under graduate teachers of Madrassa.

However, they also demanded to avail all benefits to SPQEM teachers according to that of State Government employees.

Urging for the higher education, they also demanded to set up a degree level Madrassa College for higher studies of Fazil qualified students in 2015-16.

However, the Association further raised question over the prolonged deprivation, and said that the Central Government and State Government provides many jobs under several projects. The Government has recruited teachers for Sarba Sikhsha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhamik, REGA Master and many more but the Madrassa has been deprived all the way.

After several demands to regularise the Madrassa teachers and to increase the salary the authority is playing silent role, claims the association.

Further they also questioned that if the Government can facilitate the teachers recruited in the under various scheme than why are the Madrassa are deprived from their rights from getting salary and security.
