SANTIRBAZAR, Nov 16 (TIWN): Education system has lost its glory here in Tripura since decades, no matter how much govt. brings out new curriculum in school education, but education in school, and especially in rural schools totally lacks quality and proper environment. Particularly most of the Tribal Hostels are the den of antisocial activities under Santirbazar Sub Division. Alcoholic consumption and drug addiction issue has penetrated most of the Boys Hostel.

Most remote school  is often found without any teachers, Headmaster and other official staffs. Students roam from here to there .On Sunday it was found that all the lights were on and fans were running, such is the condition of school hostel in rural area under Santirbazar. According to the locals, the school hostel is running short of Hostel incharge. Most of the hostel has become a place for dunkers, locals alleged. Many empty bottles can be found behind the hostel. This shows the stature of education here. Frequently students leave their  hostel and engaged themselves in many anti social activities.

Education for the students in the rural areas is given for the name-sake. Though the issue is being reported to the concerned authority but yet no action has been taken for the development of the school infrastructure. Moreover SDM Santirbazar visited School hostel and express his grave concern over the matter  while talking to TIWN.
