AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): No one is born criminal but the cripple society pushes the younger generation to adopt the dark path of the society. Lack luster attitude of the ruling government failing to provide any opportunities to the younger generation has forced them to get into the gloomy path of prostitution. The economic condition of state Tripura under Manik’s regime has broken down since decades and is gradually worsening day by day, due to unemployment and failure in various businesses, resulting crisis throughout the whole state. Thousands of graduates, post graduates are coming out every year in the Manik ruled highest literacy rate holder state. But govt. has failed to provide them with jobs and due to transport system’s bad condition, no proper industry neither any company could be settled down here. The companies which could set here are providing very less amount of salary to the youth which are not sufficient for a person to maintain his/her livelihood in a well manner, especially in a state like Tripura where market price are always at a rise.

As a result state is dipped into huge crisis and the state govt. has failed to give a good life to the citizens.Failing to get establishment here in the state, disappointments and poor mindset has pushed those 34 into the dark path of flesh trade. The need for money has bound them to get into this trade.

It’s being more than week after the raid but the government is completely silent over the issue. The so called people’s government CPI-M is silent over the issue.

Several questions are raised against the role of the police department. It’s good that the police have conducted a raid against running such illegal activity in public place but arresting all the 34 people who went there to spent some time with their loved ones has irked resentments among the mind of the people.

Instead of taking them for rehabilitation and counselling the administration has dragged to the door of courts.

The apex court of the country had passed an order long back putting ban on publication of names and photographs of women or girls, abused in any way or in a position which may compromise their social standing and pasting of a stigma but the identity and the photographs of these girl went viral in such a way that everyone is busy in commenting on commenting this issue.

In this case where the police has conducted a raid in the three restaurants and has nabbed 34 youths mostly and there is absolutely no evidence to prove that the nabbed girls/women are sex workers; in fact all of them are educated and belong to decent families; they had gone to the restaurants to have a chat with male partners over food and this is their legal right.

At most police could detain or arrest owners of restaurant if there was specific prima facie charge but they made wholesale arrests which could be insulting for those families of the young girls especially.

However, the poor and the dirty politics of the ruling government and negligence of the police department have made those 34 youths including boys and girls a laughing stock for others.
