BJP releases the list of candidates for KMC poll

KAILASHAHAR, Nov 13 (TIWN): After the declaration of the candidates list for the Agartala Municipal Corporation by the political parties, BJP on Friday declares the name of the candidates for Kailashahar Municipal Council.

Addressing a Press Conference, Vice President of the BJP State Committee Vidhan Das declared the list of the candidates at the District office. During the programme, BJP District President Ranjan Sinha, BJP State Committee organizing Secretary Bhagaban Das and others was present.

While declaring the names the Vice President of the BJP State Committee said that the party finalized the names of candidates representing all sections of society with clean images.

However, the party has nominated 15 candidates for the Kailashahar Municipal Council. It is to be mentioned here that new faces has been introduced in all the 15 wards.

It has been mentioned that T. Tripura has been selected for ward no.- 1, Samir Purkaystha for the ward no.- 2, Kali Chakraborty (ward no.- 3), Surajit Dhar (ward no.- 4), Jhinki Paul (ward no.- 5), Pralay Paul (ward no.- 6), Surajit Malakar (ward no.- 7), Shamima Sultana (ward no.- 8), Khokan Sarkar (ward no.- 9), Bulbul Chakraborty (ward no.- 10), Arun Saha (ward no.- 11), Bidhubhusan Das (ward no.- 12), Mita Chakraborty (ward no.- 13), Rita Malakar (ward no.- 14) and Hemendra Dey (ward no.- 15).

However, all eyes are on the ensuing election and upto the voters to whom they would cast their votes.

The elections are scheduled to be held on December 9 next.

With the issuance of notification, the hectic election process gains momentum and candidates are allowed to submit their nomination papers today itself.

Lasting date of filing nomination would be on November 19 while scrutiny would be done on the following day- November 20 and last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is slated for November 23.

However, the counting will be conducted on December 12.
