AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): Diwali-the festival of light ended peacefully at Tripura and so far there is no report of any untoward incident from any corner of the state.It is being said that we celebrate 13 different festivals in 12 months and 'Diwali' is one of them. Diwali, as the name replicates, is the festival of lights celebrated across the country with tremendous zeal and enthusiasm.Today, when the effect of globalization has captivated most of our Indian festivals, Diwali is the one occasion which has contemplated the advantage of it the most. Few decades ago, people used to decorate their houses with homemade 'diyas' and caricatures but today they have become a thing of the past. With the introduction of sophisticated lights, the festival of 'Diwali' has gone metamorphosis and become more variegated.However, the festival ended peacefully without report of any untoward incident.It is to be mentioned here that the biggest celebration of diwali is observed at Udaipur Tripurasundari temple and the festival was conducted peacefully. The credit for the peaceful celebration of the festival goes to tight security system where altogether 22 CCTV cameras were installed at the various major areas of the temple and its premises.
Besides, massive search operation was also initiated in all public places, motor-vehicles, hotels, restaurants, busy market places with bomb and dog squads.
To ensure safe and secure celebration of Diwali festival, a total of 10 watch towers were set up and one Police assistance booth was also installed to avoid any kind of untoward incidence.
The credit also goes to TSPCB who has sat the highest permissible sound limit for fire crackers in the state at 90 decibel at 5 metres in a public place on the occasion of Diwali.
