Civic Poll: Special drive to curb illicit trade ahead of election

AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing elections to Civic Body and Gram Panchayats, various initiatives have been taken to curb illegal trade carrying on in various parts of the State.According to the Locals the Police are carrying out the drive recently just before the election earlier where were they. It has been mentioned that the drive are being carried out on the poor shops of the poor traders. Allegation are coming that various other high profile shops are carrying out their trade illegally in the broad day light.But Tripura police are playing role of silent spectators, alleged the locals. However, official are conducting meeting to curb the illicit trade in the State to ensure disruption free election.It is to be mentioned here that State Election Commission and clarified that all the party members to avoid the process of tempting the voters by providing them alcohol bottles a day before the election.The State Election Commission had notified the elections with polling scheduled on December 9. All the political parties fighting in the civic polls should look forward to conduct peaceful election in the state and should look forward to authentic caste of votes by the people.However, it is also mentioned that sound using loudspeaker and crossing the decibel limit will be fined heavily.

Besides, during the campaigning tenure of the political parties use of microphone and loud speakers are being strictly prohibited other than from morning 6 to 10 in the night.

State Government has decided to provide 20kilogram of Rice Grain to the ration shop consumer from the month of December.

Reportedly, families belonging to non-priority households will be provided with 20 kg rice from the month of December.

Keeping eye on the ensuing Municipal and Nagar Panchayat election, allegation has been raised against the ruling Government saying that trying to tempt the people, goods are being distributed among the people in various parts of the State.

Besides, various tempting initiatives are being taken just before the election to create a good image of the Government in front people of the State, claimed a local. Uncertainty looms over the stability of the decision.
