AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): Days are not so far when a ballast train carrying stone chips is likely to arrive in the state by the end of the November. If everything falls in the right place the ballast train carrying stone chips will enter the state on the newly conversed BG tracks by the end of this month.Once the ballast train enters the state, there is possibility that the goods loaded train will reach the state before March 31st. However, it is to be mentioned here that 80 percent of BG track has been laid in the Badarpur-Agartala route and a successful trolley run is also conducted on the 109 km long Agartala-Kumarghat railway track which shows that the land-locked Tripura will be soon brought under the railway map of the country. At the end of the three day visit NFR GM HK Jaggi went to karimganj for inspection of the railway track. However, while moving on the way to Dharmanagar to karimganj, he also visited several places and inspected the progress of BG conversion work.He also stated the NFR team is all set to run a broad gauge engine from Badarpur to Agartala by the first week of the December this year. However, NFR is also looking forward to run the ballast train by the end of the November.

With the introduction of the BG facility, one could return from Guwahati to Agartala, capital town of the landlocked State –Tripura in a journey spanning around eight hours and if things fall in place, the ongoing work of BG conversion work from Lumding to Agartala via Badarpur would be completed shortly.

With the everyday progress in the conversion work, the common mass of the state is observing a ray of hope for faster communication and transportation.

Days are not so far when after the BG (Broad gauge) conversion work, Agartala will also be connected with by BG track with country’s railway network.

The pace of the conversion work shows that Agartala will soon be connected with the BG track to bring in sync with the rest of the country.

As a part of the faster development in the work progress of the BG conversion work the NFR team undertook conversion work fromSeptember 20 following which the passengers and goods train from Agartala to Karimganj is suspended.
