Water borne spreading high, authority silent

AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): On one hand where the State Government claims to curb the rise of Malaria patient in the State, allegedly peoples of Tulashikhar Block are being suffering from water borne disease.

Reportedly, water borne diseases are spreading widely among the people of the block and many are being admitted to the Khowai Hospital.

Besides, people the West Takchai village are also suffering from acute water crisis. The residents had to walk miles to fetch a bucket of water or else they had to depend on the dirty water of the well in the area.

Despite complaining several times to the authority but assuring for several time no initiatives has been taken yet, said the locals. Though the water crisis has turned large but the authority has not taken any initiatives.

According to the current report till August 31, Altogether 22, 562 people are attacked by the Malaria virus and a total of 16 people died. But it seems like the number death toll will rise with time.

According the last year report, it has been mentioned that a total of 51, 240 people were attacked by the Malaria virus and 96 people died.

IT is worthy to mention that in order to facilitate the people with immediate treatment, this year a total of 5, 253 Health Camp has been organized from April 1 to September 24.

Despite of several tall claims by the authority that the number of death has been decreased by 50 percent till day common people are losing their life due to the Malaria outbreak.

It is to be mentioned here that to create awareness about the diseases announcement has been done in all the villages and ADC areas and advisement on various newspapers were published. Besides, awareness camp has been organized in 120 schools and street play has been organized in various villages and the ADC areas along with cultural programme and many other initiatives have been taken.

Further various measures taken to bring the diseases like Dengue, Malaria and JE under control, the ASHA, MPS, MPW and other technicians of the village health centres were given special training.

Besides, fogging and DDT were done in the highly affected areas and the mosquito nets were washed with medicine.
