AGARTALA, Nov 2 (TIWN): Demanding the withdrawal of the termination of the 156 RMSA workers, a 9 member’s representative team of RMSA workers meet Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at his residence on Monday at 8 AM in the morning. The 9 member’s team of the RMSA workers demanded the withdrawal of their termination and demanded justice to their job. However, talking to the representative team, Chief Minister Manik sarkar said that the state does not have any hold on the termination of the 156 RMSA workers, as the central has stopped the fund supply, and thus the RMSA workers were terminated. Instead of giving proper justification for their termination CM Manik Sarkar is busy in accusing the central government for this termination of 156 RMSA workers for fund paucity, alleged the RMSA workers. However, failing to get any assurance from Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, the RMSA workers decided to stage a massive protest on November 4 at Agartala against the decision of the termination of the 156 RMSA workers by the state government. All the RMSA workers to stage protest against the decision of the state government and will demand justice for them. The workers are also determined to go on hunger strike on the coming days to press for their justice under the long regime of the CPI-M government.

They further claimed to commit suicide to press for their justice higher to the state government.

It is to be mentioned here that many families are dependent on the single income of this many RMSA employees but the sudden decision of the state government has drag those families in darkness.

Reportedly, the ruling Left Front government have terminated 156 non – teaching staff of Rashtirya Madhyamik Shiskha Abhyjaan (RMSA). A notice of their termination was issued to them by RMSA Mission Director P. Goyal. The notification stated that the centre have stopped funds for all the terminated non – teaching staffs. The left front government always claims that they will stand by them in future on time of crisis, but the termination of 156 lab assistant and LDC of RMSA sent a message to other centrally sponsored project that the left front government will not take any responsibility in case stopping of funds from the central.

Agitated RMSA workers alleged that the state government is solely responsible for the termination of non – teaching RMSA staffs. Question rose that no staffs are terminated anywhere in the country, then why will the central has terminated only those 156 workers in the state. The central government is sponsoring other states and are giving them regular pay structure by inducting them in education department, why such unfair treatment to the RMSA workers of Tripura.
